Knicks’ Miles McBride hits shot to win West Virginia student tuition

Miles “Deuce” McBride helped pay someone's college fund.

The Knicks guard and former West Virginia University star made an incredible shot over a crowd of students on “The Pat McAfee Show,” broadcast live from the school on Friday.

McBride appeared on McAfee's show, a former punter and fellow West Virginia University alumnus, and made a big, expensive shot that resulted in McAfee and the show paying for a student's college tuition.

The crowd outside Milan Puskar Stadium went wild.

McBride then stood and hugged the student.

In the spirit of giving, McAfee pointed to two students who showed up to the show around 3 a.m. and said they would also be donating about $10,000 each.

Knicks guard McBride will enter his fourth NBA season this fall and is looking to build off of his most productive season to date.

The 6-foot-2 shooter averaged 8.3 points per game last season, a career-high, and shot 41 percent from three-point range, more than 10 percentage points better than the previous season.

McBride also starred for an undermanned Knicks team in the playoffs, appearing in 13 games and averaging 26.7 minutes per game, 11.0 points per game and shooting 36.8% from three-point range on more than five attempts per game.
