Knicks’ OG Anunoby out against Hornets with elbow inflammation

CHARLOTTE — OG Anunoby worsened inflammation in his right elbow during warmups and missed Monday’s game against the Hornets.

The Knicks power forward, who has been a revelation defensively since being acquired last month and was key to New York’s six-game winning streak, wore black Kinesio tape around his shooting elbow in previous appearances.

With Anunoby and Julius Randle (dislocated right shoulder) out for Charlotte, the Knicks promoted Josh Hart and Precious Achiuwa to the starting lineup.

Other starters were regulars Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo and Isaiah Hartenstein.

Anunoby hasn’t missed a game since being acquired from the Raptors.

He hasn’t played at least 70 games in a season since his rookie season in 2017-19.

The struggling Hornets were also hit by a lack of players, with LaMelo Ball out with an ankle injury.

The Knicks have a chance to win all four games against Charlotte.
