Knicks' victory sparks excitement in NYC with thousands rejoicing in the streets, bars, and bodegas after Game 4 win

Knicks Fans Celebrate Historic Comeback

New York City was alive with excitement on Wednesday night as Knicks supporters gathered in bars, bodegas, and living rooms to celebrate an incredible victory in Game 4. With this win, the Knicks are now just one game away from claiming the NBA Championship.

In a remarkable second-half comeback, the Knicks edged out the Spurs with a final score of 107-106, marking the most significant comeback in NBA Finals history and taking a 3-1 lead in the series.

As the team pulled off a last-minute rally, celebrations erupted throughout the city.

New Yorkers lit fireworks, cheered loudly, and chanted “Knicks in Five.” Horns were honked, hugs were exchanged, and people danced in the streets and sang on the subway.

“It was shocking. Oh my god, I can’t even describe it,” remarked Frederick Cathy, 21, from Flatbush, outside Lady Wild’s bar in Midtown. “This was historic.”

The thrill spread through every corner of the city.

One enthusiastic fan even scaled a bus stop sign on 7th Avenue and performed a backflip, drawing cheers from a crowd of hundreds. In Central Park, strangers huddled together, watching the game on their phones. Fireworks lit up the night sky over Staten Island, as crowds lined the streets, echoing shouts of “OG, OG, OG!” in reference to OG Anunoby’s game-winning shot.

“Anything can happen in a New York Minute,” said Randy Sanchez, 28, from the Hudson Valley. “What the hell happened? The Knicks were up by six points.”

Fans caught the action outside Healthy Market in New York City, as well as near Madison Square Garden.

“I’m feeling really good right now. It’s actually really upbeat. This is great. I can’t wait for the next game,” said Leila David, 19, at a watch party in Central Park.

If the Knicks win on Saturday in San Antonio, it will be their first NBA title since 1973.

“After tonight, I’m confident we’re going to win Game 5. They’re going to take the trophy back to New York, and that parade is going to be wild,” predicted James Egisiaco, 44. “I’m taking the day off work for it.”

Footage showed that Madison Square Garden remained packed post-game, with fans reluctant to leave due to their excitement.

“It was the greatest upset of all time,” exclaimed Tommy Connors, 19, from Queens. “If any team can do that, it’s the New York Knicks. They’re going to win.” He also referenced Spurs player Victor Wembanyama, suggesting he “folds under pressure” and couldn’t handle the atmosphere in the Garden.

For many long-time fans, the win was particularly special.

“I’ve been a fan since ’92. We haven’t won since ’93. This is a historic day,” expressed Stephen St. Pierre, a 40-year-old actor and director. “We’re here to witness it. New York’s king Jalen Brunson deserves a statue outside the Garden. Let’s go!”

The Knicks face the Spurs in San Antonio on Saturday, with the opportunity to secure the Finals.

“I’m proud to be a Knicks fan. I love this team. I love this city,” said Marco Pace, 18. “This was truly the most emotional match.”
