Love Triangle Among Knoxville Police Officers

Romance seems to be circulating quite a bit in Tennessee, with police officers caught up in more than just their usual duties.

A recent love triangle involving officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department wasn’t an isolated case. In Knoxville, things got a bit more complicated than your standard situation.

One officer in the Knoxville Police Department was sending flirtatious emails to the police chief, Paul Noel. An internal investigation uncovered a series of messages that indicated more than mere professional interactions.

Jasmine Reed, the officer in question, had engaged in inappropriate chats with Chief Noel. He reportedly invited her to leave town together, even though he wore a wedding ring. It’s a bit perplexing, right? He talked about being cautious, yet this raises so many questions. The chief was suspended for a month and is currently under investigation for these communications.

Interestingly, the texts exchanged over the years didn’t reveal any physical relationship between Reed and the chief. However, the same cannot be said for her connections with another officer.

Reed was suspended after it was revealed that she had an affair with Capt. Keith DeBow, who is married. Sources indicated their encounters included sexual acts while on duty. Lt. Tammy DeBow, Keith’s wife, also faced suspension after she found out about the affair and sent messages to Reed.

Ironically, Keith DeBow had already left the department before any formal complaints surfaced, leaving him out of the investigation. Investigators concluded that there wasn’t any criminal misconduct, but noted various inappropriate behaviors in the workplace.

Reed reportedly admitted to her affair and mentioned they had sexual relations multiple times while on duty. Surveillance footage showed them together in a secured area for over eight hours total. It’s hard not to chuckle a bit at the absurdity of it all—37 times in one place can feel excessive.

While it’s understandable that Tammy may have felt conflicted, her actions were still deemed inappropriate, leading to her suspension. As if this wasn’t enough drama, Reed is also facing scrutiny for her work performance. She was found to have mishandled evidence on numerous occasions. Given her busy schedule with all this, it’s not too shocking.
