New Apple Pie Flavored Mac & Cheese from Kraft

For those who love macaroni and cheese, this new offering is certainly unconventional.

As we move into fall and with Thanksgiving around the corner, many people are drawn to comfort food. Kraft has now merged two beloved classics to create a distinct new dish.

The new apple pie flavored Kraft mac & cheese claims to blend “two of the most iconic Thanksgiving dishes,” resulting in a combination that is “sweet and savory.”

Cheryl Barbee, communications director for Kraft Mac & Cheese at Kraft Heinz Company, stated that this flavor aligns with the trend of being “familiar yet adventurous,” featuring creamy cheese with hints of cinnamon and tart apple.

Now, it might seem odd to have a sweet version of macaroni and cheese, but it’s not a completely foreign concept. In various regions of the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., it’s common to place a slice of cheese on top of apple pie.

Kraft’s Apple Pie Mac & Cheese will be available nationwide for a limited time, while supplies last. You can find it for $1.48 exclusively online at Walmart.com.

To launch this product, Kraft collaborated with Jason Biggs, dubbed “The Ultimate Pie Man,” who added a touch of humor and nostalgia to the promotion.

Reactions from fans, however, are mixed at best. Some have humorously suggested that this invention should “go straight to jail.”

One person quipped about the “while stocks last” approach, noting how products that aren’t performing often linger on the shelves.

Another fan, intrigued but skeptical, joked that they might be willing to try this odd mix, especially as they were feeling adventurous during their pregnancy.

Opinions varied: while one user who loved both macaroni and cheese and apple pie said they weren’t convinced the combination would work, another person wondered if this was some sort of artificial intelligence-driven creation gone wrong.

Questions about the sanity of creating such a flavor emerged as well, with some expressing disbelief that brands were leaning into concoctions that seemed almost inedible.
