Injury Report: Kris Boyd Involved in Shooting
Reports indicate that Kris Boyd, a cornerback for the New York Jets, was injured in a shooting incident in New York City early Sunday morning.
According to the New York City Police Department, gunfire erupted around 2 a.m. on West 38th Street. Officers who responded to the scene discovered a 29-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition. Initially, it was suggested that Boyd was the individual injured, though authorities didn’t officially confirm this right away.
The New York Jets issued a statement saying, “We are aware of the situation regarding Kris Boyd and have no further comment at this time.”
Sources reveal that the shooting may have arisen from an altercation outside Say Less Restaurant, where multiple shots were fired according to law enforcement.
No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation is ongoing.
Boyd’s representatives have been contacted for further comments.
Drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Boyd played four seasons with the Vikings before moving to the Arizona Cardinals in 2023. After a year with the Houston Texans, he signed with the Jets in March. Currently, he is on injured reserve and hasn’t participated in any regular season games this year.
Interestingly, the Jets don’t have a game scheduled today following their loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday night.
