The cause of Kris Jenner’s sister Karen Houghton’s death has been revealed, about a month after she passed away at the age of 65.
According to the death certificate Obtained by TMZHorton’s official cause of death was cardiac arrest and sudden arrhythmia, with type 2 diabetes listed as a secondary cause.
The document also states that Horton had previously been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was cremated after her death on March 19.
Jenner, 68, announced her sister’s “unexpected” death on Instagram last month.
“It is with a very heavy heart and deep sadness that I announce the sudden passing of my sister Karen yesterday,” she said. Added a caption to the carousel Old photos of Horton with other relatives.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star said he was “heartbroken” for his mother, Mary Jo Campbell, and Horton’s daughter Natalie.
“Karen was beautiful inside and out,” Jenner added. “She was the sweetest, kindest, most sensitive, vulnerable and very funny person. She always appreciated her life and cherished her family and friends, especially her beautiful daughter. I did.”
The mother of six said she cherished “all the memories” they had together.
“Karen’s death is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is not promised. We must tell those we care about how much we love them. “No. I love you my beautiful sister,” she concluded.
Jenner’s daughter Kim Kardashian paid tribute to her late aunt on social media following her death.
“🕊️ Aunt Karen, I love you so much 🕊️,” Skims founder, 43, said. captioned a series of nostalgic photos March 21st.
Not much is known about Jenner and Houghton’s relationship, but it appears they were estranged at one point.

In April 2014, Horton reportedly asked her Facebook friends to “pray for” her “crazy” sister. Because “she needs it.”
“she [sic] no way. She doesn’t need prayers, she needs Skye vodka, hahaha, hahahahaha,” the mother of one added. Per Radar Online.
Horton also said Jenner did not return her phone calls.
“And it hurts me. I don’t care how much money you have, I don’t care who you are, you’re my sister. I’m not afraid of her. …I don’t care about her anymore. “I can’t contact you. But I think it’s because of the money,” she said.
It is unclear whether the brothers repaired their relationship before Horton’s death.
The sisters were last seen posing with other relatives on Christmas Day 2019.
