Kris Kristofferson “passed away peacefully at home” on the Hawaiian island of Maui on Saturday, September 28, Fox News Digital confirmed.
Kristofferson won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role in A Star Is Born, in addition to his roles in the Blade trilogy and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.
The country music legend was part of the Highwaymen along with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.
This supergroup revolutionized the outlaw country music genre in the '80s.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that our husband, father, and grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 28th,” the family said in a statement to FOX News Digital. said in a statement.
