Gov. Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota) has committed the most astonishing act of political suicide since Gary Hart.
By many accounts, Noem, a popular governor with a growing national brand, was on former President Trump’s list of running mate candidates. Even if he didn’t choose her, there was little doubt that Noem had her political future. She’s a beauty with TV-ready looks, conservative and rural, and in an age obsessed with identity politics, her being a woman doesn’t matter. Hurt. It’s easy to imagine her serving in a future President Trump’s cabinet and running for president in 2028.
No more.
In her upcoming political book, I can’t go back nowno doubt written to increase her chances of becoming President Trump’s running mate, Nomu…
- Admitted shooting a 14-month-old puppy in the head.
- She portrays the shooting of her 14-month-old puppy in the head as a noble act of leadership that proves she is ready to make difficult decisions.
According to the far left Guardian’s account As for Noem’s story (which she doesn’t dispute), here’s how it happened…
“Cricket was an approximately 14-month-old wirehaired pointer,” Noem wrote, adding that the female dog had an “aggressive personality.” Noem took her dog pheasant hunter to teach her dog pheasant hunting and calm her down. Instead, Cricket ruins everything by “losing his mind with excitement, chasing birds, and having the time of his life.”
After that harrowing hunt, Noem said she stopped to meet a neighbor. The crickets then jumped out of the truck and attacked a neighbor’s chickens.[ing] They kill one chicken at a time by chewing it up in one bite, then dropping it to attack another chicken. ” Noem said that when she grabbed the dog by the collar to stop the chicken slaughter, Cricket “bitten me with the whip.”
Noem claims the dog acted like a “trained assassin” that day, but was also “a picture of pure joy.”
Noem admitted that she “hated that dog” and decided that Cricket was “untrainable.” [and] Dangerous to anyone she comes into contact with. ”
“At that moment, I knew I had to put her down,” Noem says. Such…
Noem took Cricket out to the gravel pit and shot him dead.
Elsewhere in the book, Noem tells the story of culling a similarly “mean and spiteful” goat at the same gravel pit.
On Sunday, Noem released Xwitter after the puppy killing story broke. statement It said in part:
I can understand why some people would be offended by the 20-year-old story of Cricket, one of the farm’s working dogs, that appears in my upcoming book, No Going Back. This book is full of honest stories about my life, good days and bad days, challenges, tough decisions, and lessons learned.
…
I have never shifted my responsibility to anyone else, whether it’s ranching or politics. Even if it’s hard and painful. I was following the law and acting as a responsible parent, dog owner, and neighbor.
As I explain in the book, it wasn’t easy. But the easy way is often not the right way.
Hmm, no.
The choice to shoot a 14-month-old dog was an “easy” one. The “right way” is to accept what it means to voluntarily assume responsibility for life. Noem should have taken the time to train Cricket, hire someone else to train him, or adopt him.
Shooting a 14-month-old dog for acting like a 14-month-old dog is reprehensible.
It is unacceptable to admit that you shot a 14-month-old dog because it behaved like a 14-month-old dog in a political book meant to raise national profile. All Noem has proven is that she is too tone-deaf and politically inept to be on the national stage.
She will forever be a Lady Puppy Killer.
The joke never ends.
And she deserves it.
Who shot the rambunctious 14-month-old dog? Noem even admitted that the dog was “a picture of pure joy.” So Cricket wasn’t a mean dog. She was immature. That’s a dog you can work with.
If your older dog starts biting, it’s a different story. Something is wrong. I just experienced it during Christmas. Even though it wasn’t my dog, I was the one who got bitten and the whole ordeal was heartbreaking. If I were to tell that story, it would be a story full of sadness and regret. The last words I use are “hate” or “useless.” I’m still disgusted by that.
One of my dogs bullied my brother mercilessly and bit me regularly. This lasted for at least 18 months. Today Frankie is 10 years old and we can’t imagine life without him.
And I don’t support this nonsense for a second How difficult is life in the countryside?. My grandparents were dairy farmers and were in their 70s (around 70 years old). old), he has become a useless dog who cannot be trained. They didn’t let it stop (and my grandfather could do something like that if necessary). Instead, they built a shelter inside a fenced meadow. The dog was fed every day, winter and summer, until it died of natural causes.
Whether it’s a goldfish or a dog, being responsible for your life means more than just putting a bullet in your head when the going gets tough.
Noem writes that a school bus arrived to drop off the children shortly after shooting the cricket… “Kennedy looked around in confusion,” Noem wrote of her daughter, but… “Hey, where’s Cricket?” I asked.
The man is alive.
