The human resources executive involved in the notorious Coldplay kiss cam incident has shared that the online backlash not only led to his job loss but also instilled fear in his teenage children due to threats and public harassment.

Christine Cabot recounted her children’s anxiety, explaining they were worried they might lose her after overhearing discussions about threats directed at her. “They were afraid of me,” she noted during an interview.

Back in 2025, Cabot opened up about the aftermath of a video capturing a tender moment between her and her then-boss, Andy Byron, former CEO of Astronomer, at a Coldplay concert. The clip went viral, leading many, including Chris Martin, the band’s frontman, to mistakenly assume they were involved in an affair.

Despite the rampant rumors about infidelity, Cabot was quick to clarify that she was already separated from her husband, who was aware of her close professional ties with Byron.

She mentioned how she had been warned her relationship with Byron would lead to trouble, but it, inexplicably, ended up derailing her life and career instead.

Reflecting on the incident, Cabot expressed her disbelief upon returning home, a place that felt safe, only to find it had become a target due to local media broadcasting her address and unintentionally making her personal information accessible. “It turned into a dangerous environment,” she remarked, describing how paparazzi lingered outside her home, while some even invaded her privacy by peering through her windows.

Shortly after the public uproar, she began receiving a barrage of unsettling and disturbing messages both via text and voicemail. “My children are hearing about the death threats,” she stated, acknowledging their fears, “They think, ‘I’m going to lose my mother.'” “And that’s indeed what happened,” Cabot responded somberly.

Cabot explained that her connection with Byron, the then-CEO, had stemmed from a work culture that emphasized close collaborations and social interactions. However, she no longer maintains any relationship with him. At the concert, Cabot believed Byron was also separated from his partner, but her estranged husband eventually clarified the situation, while Byron chose to stay quiet.

Feeling betrayed, Cabot expressed disappointment, saying, “I was left holding the bag… he remained silent. That’s not someone I would trust as a friend or boss.” She suggested that had Byron publicly addressed the situation, it might have altered the negative perceptions surrounding her. “His tone shifted, and suddenly, it became that I was still a ‘homewrecker,’” she added.

During the Coldplay performance on July 16, Byron and Cabot were caught on the kiss cam, leading to a humorous yet speculative comment from Martin about potential cheating or shyness. Cabot reacted by covering her face and averting her gaze from the camera, while Byron quickly ducked out of sight.
