Kristin Cavallari Moves Away from Athlete Dating

On the “Let’s Be Honest” podcast this Tuesday, Kristin Cavallari, 38, opened up about her dating preferences. She told guest Patty Stanger, famously known as the “billionaire matchmaker,” that she feels she’s “too old for athletes.” Her comment sparked a light-hearted chat about dating beyond the world of sports.

“You know what’s interesting is dating a coach,” Cavallari mentioned. “I’m too old for an athlete, but what about those hot coaches? Some of them are pretty attractive.” It seems she’s considering a change in her dating routine.

Having been married to former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, Cavallari reflected on the challenges of dating, especially with busy schedules. She revealed that she had previously spotted a few coaches on the dating app Raya, hinting she might give it another try. “I might need to start scrolling again,” she admitted.

This discussion comes a few months after she confirmed her breakup with former NHL player Nate Thompson. Their relationship first became public last December when she teased their connection on her podcast. After parting ways, Cavallari expressed her admiration for Thompson, saying, “I think he’s a wonderful guy… He has put in a lot of work on himself.”

Thompson, 40, had a notable hockey career, being drafted by the Bruins in 2003 and playing for multiple teams before retiring in 2023. Cavallari, now 42, finalized her divorce from Cutler in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. They co-parent three children: Camden, 12, Jackson, 11, and Saylor, 9.

Cutler had a lengthy career in the NFL and is perhaps best known for his time with the Bears. He wrapped up his football journey with the Dolphins in 2017 and recently made headlines for hunting the Sable Antelope in South Africa.
