Kristin Cavallari discusses dating as a mother on her own

Kristin Cavallari Reflects on Podcast Content After Sons’ Friends’ Comments

Kristin Cavallari recently found herself rethinking the topics she covers on her podcast after a surprising interaction with her sons’ friends.

“About a year ago, when I was dating someone younger, their friends mentioned seeing us play drinking games on a podcast. They also caught wind of some of the more adult discussions we had,” Cavallari shared regarding her sons, Camden, 13, and Jackson, 11.

During her podcast, Let’s Be Honest, Cavallari described the experience as a moment of realization. It made her think twice about what she chooses to reveal to her listeners. She called it a “really eye-opening” experience for a single mom.

Addressing guest Rachel Bilson, she said, “At the end of the day, my kids’ opinions of me don’t really matter. But I have to be mindful about what I say, especially if it affects them or their friends.”

The 39-year-old, known from Laguna Beach, mentioned that she has since learned to communicate her thoughts carefully without holding back completely.

Cavallari, who also has a daughter named Saylor, 10, with ex-husband Jay Cutler, 42, previously dated Mark Estes, who is now 26. Their relationship lasted several months into 2024.

A source shared that Cavallari and Estes parted ways in September 2024 due to differing long-term visions. “As things became more serious, challenges emerged,” the source noted. “They kept discussing the future but just couldn’t find common ground.”

Estes expressed a desire to “settle down and start a family” early on, while Cavallari felt content with her established family life, having three children already.

The age difference—13 years—played a significant role in their decision to separate, with a source commenting that they were simply at different life stages.

As for her kids, Cavallari revealed that Jackson and Saylor have a close bond with her, often spending “one night a week” sleeping in her room.
