The Raiders have started the season strong, their best since 2021. However, surprisingly, there’s been little buzz around them—except for ESPN and NFL Network analyst Kyle Brandt, of course.
On the show “Big Day,” hosted by his former co-host from NFL Network, Peter Schrager, Brandt delivered an enthusiastic message in support of the Raiders.
He made quite an entrance, donning a Raiders letterman jacket adorned with patches celebrating their three Super Bowl wins.
“Las Vegas Raiders, listen. Hear that silence? Two games, two wins by double digits. Can you hear that?” Brandt exclaimed. “That’s the level of conversation regarding the Raiders. That’s who believes in them. And you know what I’m tired of hearing?”
“I don’t want to hear about the past. It doesn’t matter that some 23-year-olds haven’t seen the Raiders triumph in January. There are babies just nine months old who haven’t seen them lose in September,” he added.
Brandt criticized the lack of attention on the Raiders, mentioning that their absence from prime-time games contributes to this oversight, while teams like the Browns and Chargers, who do get prime-time slots, are frequently discussed.
His frustration peaked when he pointed out that after the Raiders dominated the Chargers the previous Sunday, the focus remained more on the Chargers’ struggles rather than appreciating the Raiders’ performance.
“You beat the Chargers, and everyone’s asking, ‘What’s wrong with them?’ How about focusing on what’s right with the Raiders?” Brandt said. “There’s more chatter about Mike McDaniels’ style than about Klint Kubiak’s track record. It’s as if nobody cares about the Raiders.”
During his appearances on shows like “Get Up,” “First Take,” and “NFL Live,” Brandt shared that none of the discussions were highlighting the positive aspects of the Raiders’ season so far, despite him having appeared on “26 football shows today.”
“The autumn wind is a Raider, but the A Block is dominated by the Chiefs, Broncos, and Chargers,” Brandt noted.
As he continued, Schrager couldn’t resist chiming in about how a lengthy script on “First Take” failed to mention the Raiders, opting instead to discuss teams like the Buccaneers, Panthers, and Steelers.
“What’s got me fired up? It’s the Raiders,” Brandt insisted. “But it seems no one else is, and that’s just fine. That’s good. That’s great.”
He concluded by expressing confidence that the Raiders would move to 3-0 after facing the Saints.
