Kyle Busch gave his wife Samantha “inches” and she received a mile.
The 38-year-old driver took to Instagram on Sunday to reflect on the thrilling conclusion to Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. There, Busch participated in a three-wide photo finish and finished the race in third place behind Ryan Blaney. Winner Daniel Suarez.
“You can’t get any closer. I needed a few inches.” Bush posted on Instagram. “Fast @cheddarskitchen – @teamchevy car today, excited about the strength it showed earlier this year.”
As the likes piled up, Samantha, who has been married to Bush since 2010, fired off a harsh jab in the comments.
“I’ve been saying that for almost 20 years,” she wrote with a goofy face emoji.
Samantha’s comments caused some of Mr. Bush’s followers to have second thoughts.
“There’s no way she would say that,” one Instagram user wrote.
Another fan posted: “Why did she have to end this guy’s career like that, so funny lol.”
Suarez, 32, beat Blaney, 30, by 0.003 seconds and Busch by 0.007 seconds.
Busch split down the middle between Suarez and Blaney to form a third line, attempting to execute an almost perfect offensive maneuver.
“It was really close,” Sless said. According to NASCAR.com. “It was very close. It was a good race. Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch and Austin Cindric were doing a great job pushing as well. Right at the back, he said I was going to (ruin) my teammate. ) so he didn’t push me, but hey, what a job.”
Bush added, “It was great to see Daniel win.”
“We helped each other out as team partners at Chevrolet and worked together there. We showed that when you have friends and allies, things seem to work out, and that was the good part of today.”
Samantha, who shares two children with Bush, also posted a message on social media following Sunday’s exciting ending.
“Well, it was almost there! This team is proud to have run strong cars over consecutive weekends, and let’s extend this momentum to Las Vegas.” she wrote on Instagram.
The next event will be Sunday, March 3rd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
