Kyle Kilbourn wins Democratic primary battle for Wisconsin House seat

Kyle Kilburn won the Democratic primary for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, setting the stage for a race against incumbent Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany.

Two Democratic candidates competed for the party’s nomination in the primary election.

Air Force veteran and Congressional candidate Elsa Duranso is a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate who works in local community partnerships for child care, elder care and rural small business development.

Durancourt’s campaign website said he is running “to continue his work influencing public programs and policies.”

Also competing in the race was Kyle Kilburn, a North Dakota native who earned his doctorate in product design and innovation from the University of Southern Denmark.

Kilbourne has worked as a web designer, researcher, and design strategist for a non-profit hospital, and as a board member for a local neighborhood association.

Tiffany currently serves as a member of the Badger County Assembly, having won unopposed in the Republican primary and first been elected in a special election in 2020.
