Less than 12 hours after his initial post on X, Kyle Rittenhouse retracted a comment he had made about writing a letter to Ron Paul because “Trump isn’t supportive enough of gun control.”
“Hello, I’m Kyle Rittenhouse, outreach director for Texas Gun Rights. A lot of people are upset that I said I endorse Ron Paul for President of the United States, but it’s true. I endorse Ron Paul,” Rittenhouse posted in a video on his X account.
In a video, Rittenhouse explained why he will not support Donald Trump for president.
“Unfortunately, Donald Trump had bad advisors that made him bad on the Second Amendment. That’s my problem. If you can’t completely compromise on the Second Amendment, I’m not voting for you and I’m going to run somebody else,” Rittenhouse vowed. “We need defenders of the Second Amendment, otherwise our rights are going to be eroded and eroded every day. I stand by my decision and I’m not going to back down.”

“Over the past 12 hours, I have had a series of constructive discussions with members of the Trump campaign and I am confident that Mr. Trump will be the strong ally gun owners need to protect their Second Amendment rights,” Rittenhouse said.
