Kyler Murray Misses Game Due to Injury

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray sat out Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, sidelined by a foot injury.

Murray did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday and just managed to take part in some limited action on Friday. Then, not long before the game, he was officially ruled out. In his absence, veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett is expected to take over.

The injury is a midfoot sprain, and there are reports indicating that Murray might miss more than just this Week 6 matchup. He had a rocky outing the previous week, missing two plays during a loss to the Tennessee Titans.

This season, Murray, now in his seventh year, has tallied 962 passing yards along with six touchdowns, but he’s also thrown three interceptions.

Back in 2019, he was the top overall pick in the draft and earned Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. He led the Cardinals to the playoffs in 2021 and signed a substantial contract extension in 2022 worth $230.5 million.

As for the Cardinals, they head into Week 6 with a record of 2-3, currently ranking 23rd in points scored and 26th in receiving yards. They had an 8-9 record last season.

Kedon Slovis is listed as the third-string quarterback for the Cardinals.
