For Jason and Kylie Kelsey, a date night on the New Jersey shore didn’t go as planned.
A video circulating on social media showed Kylie and a woman arguing in a parking lot over Memorial Day weekend.
Word to the Wise is a Philadelphia-based podcast. I posted a video The company posted a short video on its Instagram account of Kylie coming face to face with the woman.
According to multiple witnesses to the altercation, the woman approached the Kelses’ car either during a traffic stop or in the parking lot of Steve & Cookies by the Bay restaurant in Margate City, New Jersey, and asked to take a photograph.

However, witnesses said Kylie politely declined the woman’s request as she was on a date with her recently retired husband.
But things start to escalate, and apparently that’s when the video begins.

“I don’t care who you are, you’re never allowed in this town. I’ll never let you come in this town again,” a woman can be heard yelling at Kylie, as Jason can be seen in the background leaving his wife to handle the situation.

Kylie then fired back, claiming that the woman smelled of alcohol.
“I can smell alcohol on your breath,” Kylie says. “That’s embarrassing.”

It is unclear if the woman had been drinking alcohol prior to the altercation.
The video ends after Kylie responds, but witnesses say the Kelses went into a restaurant and enjoyed the evening together.
The Kelses were regulars in Margate City and Sea Isle City during the summer, and many people would field requests to have their photos taken at the beach on weekends.
One X user added: “My husband ran into Jason yesterday morning. He was walking the dog. He gave him a nod and let him pass.”
