Is It Over Yet?
Kylie Kelsey joked that she “probably” didn’t “need to know that much” about her husband Travis Kelce’s recent attention, particularly after hearing Taylor Swift’s provocative song “Wood.”
On her podcast, “I Won’t Lie,” the 33-year-old host showered praise on Kansas City Chiefs players during Thursday’s episode.
“Good job, Trav!” she exclaimed. “That’s it! 1000 percent yes.”
Jason Kelsey’s wife humorously defended her enthusiastic support, explaining to listeners, “It’s women supporting women.”
The ninth track on Swift’s album *The Life of a Showgirl* features explicit lyrics referencing Travis’ “It’s Not Hard to See,” “Sequoia Trees,” and his “hard rock.”
Jason, 37, teased Travis, 36, about the song on the podcast “New Heights,” suggesting that the tight end should embrace his “sassy” side about it.
When Travis downplayed the song’s references to him, Jason pointed out that Swift was clearly singing about the “appendages” of some Chiefs players.
“What?” Travis responded. “I don’t think you understand this song. No way!”
Jason playfully remarked, “If someone were to write a song about me, it would go something like, ‘Japanese maple/Sometimes I see it.’”
Swift revealed on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* that “Wood” originated from a desire to create a “nostalgic song with a timeless sound” centered around various superstitions.
She admitted, “I don’t know what happened. … I don’t know how I got here, but I love this song so much.”
In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s “Morning Mash Up,” Taylor also shared that her mother, Andrea Swift, thinks the song is about superstition, saying, “That’s the double joy. When I read that song to people, it immediately goes over their heads.”
Her latest album, which is her twelfth, includes tracks like “Wi$h Li$t” and “Opalite,” featuring more references to her fiancé.
