Kylie Kelsey Joins NBC for Milan-Cortina Olympics
Kylie Kelsey is heading to Milan for the upcoming Winter Olympics. She’s not just the wife of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce; she’s also the host of the podcast “Not Gonna Lie.” NBC recently announced her involvement in their broadcast of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, set for February.
As part of NBCUniversal’s Milano-Cortina Creator Collective, Kelsey will work alongside creators from platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Meta, focusing on sharing the unique experiences of the games in Milan and Cortina.
The mother of four boasts a podcast with 429,000 YouTube subscribers and joins other notable creators like Tom Daley and Bowen Yang in sharing the journeys of Team USA athletes during the second week of the Olympics. Molly Solomon, executive producer, emphasized her background in Olympic sports, saying, “She approached us all over Paris because, of course, she was a field hockey player.”
Kylie, a former NCAA Division III field hockey player at Cabrini University, has already been involved in Olympic events, notably watching the USA vs. Argentina game alongside Jason at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
There’s some curiosity if Jason will make the trip to Milan. Solomon acknowledged that while he’s busy with ESPN, the schedules for the Super Bowl and the Olympics don’t clash, leaving room for a possible appearance.
With an impressive following of 2.7 million on Instagram and 2.5 million on TikTok, Kylie is well-positioned to engage audiences. Solomon remarked, “We take her to different events every day and can’t wait to take her there. And hopefully she’ll catch the bug and want to be a part of this for L.A.”
This new initiative follows the success of NBCUniversal’s Paris Creator Collective at the 2024 Summer Olympics, inviting over 25 creators for coverage of the Winter Olympics. These creators will provide exclusive access to athletes and events, filming content across northern Italy and visiting Olympic venues in Milan, Cortina, and Livigno.
Gary Zenkel, NBC Olympic Chairman, expressed enthusiasm about the program, stating the creators will showcase everything from winter sports to Italian cuisine and fashion in celebration of the Games. The Milan-Cortina Olympics will kick off on February 6 and run through February 22.
