The Los Angeles Fire Station (LAFD) may have pre-deployed 10 engines to Palisades in the Pacific Ocean ahead of the fatal Palisades January 7th, but chose not to. Los Angeles Times.
As reported by Breitbart News, LAFD, led by Chief Kristin Crowley, has released pre-deployment resources ahead of extreme winds on January 6th, to cut budgets that departments reluctantly reluctant to work overtime. Apparently he refused.
Los Angeles Times I'll add it That it took 18 minutes for a firefighter to answer the first 911 call about a brush fire that turned into a giant Palisade fire. By then it was almost too late to stop the wind from incite the first flame.
The era It has been reported:
The LAFD may have sent at least 10 additional engines to the Palisade prior to the fire. This is what an engine that may have been patrols along the hillside and canyon, a former senior official in the department told The Times.
…
Palisades fire tolls may not have been that bad, even if additional engines had pre-located in areas that are most likely to be fired from the two Palisades stations, the former chief said.
They also said LAFD officials pre-deployed the city-wide engine on January 7th, rather than in response to previous wind warnings, including 2011, 2013 and 2019.
