L.A. Mayor Karen Bass Press Conference

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass held a press conference Wednesday night in response to wildfires burning in Palisades and Altadena, California.

Most notably, the press conference indicated that more than 1,000 structures had burned and countless homes and businesses had been destroyed between fires raging in both parts of the city.

As Breitbart News reported on Wednesday, Mayor Karen Bass gave more than 24 hours' notice at the time of the wildfires to what experts predicted would be the worst storm to hit Los Angeles since 2011. First, he visited Ghana in Africa. The storm developed into an unprecedented firestorm.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass spent Tuesday in Africa as part of a taxpayer-funded delegation attending the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as president of Ghana. Democrats were there as her city battled wildfires and thousands of residents fled for their lives.

Also joining Bass are Virginia E. Palmer, the U.S. ambassador to Ghana, and Frances Z. Brown, special assistant to the president and senior director for African affairs on the National Security Council.

Reports also revealed that Mayor Karen Bass has received a pay cut. almost $20 million from the Los Angeles Fire Department's budget.

A review of Los Angeles' budget revealed that Democratic Mayor Karen Bass had cut about $20 million from the city's fire department budget this fiscal year and was calling for even bigger cuts. At least 80,000 people have been evacuated as a massive wildfire rages through Los Angeles, and local reports say the Los Angeles Fire Department is running out of water.

Mayor Bass had proposed approximately $23 million in cuts to the LA Fire Department. Mayor Bass was traveling abroad in Ghana with a Biden delegation when local residents of Los Angeles slammed Bass, calling for him to resign. $13 million of the cuts to the Los Angeles Fire Department were in operational supplies as well as significant reductions in salaries.

On Wednesday, when asked by a Sky News reporter about his response to the fire, Bass remained silent for nearly two minutes, expressionless.
