L.I. woman killed after taxi jumps curb in Queens: Cops

A Long Island woman walking on a sidewalk in Queens was killed Saturday when she was struck by a yellow cab that jumped the curb after the crash, police said.

Police say the 23-year-old taxi driver was in a Toyota Rav4 at 115th Street and Lefferts Boulevard in South Ozone Park around 3:10 a.m. when a Honda Accord, which was being driven by a 25-year-old man, crashed. There was a collision. .

The accident caused the taxi to veer onto the pavement, hitting a 51-year-old woman and two men, aged 44 and 49.

Police sources said the woman was “pinned down” against a fence by a vehicle.

All three were rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where the woman died.

Police said she was identified as Vidia Douclan-Franco of Merrick.

The men suffered minor injuries. No arrests were made.
