Wildfires spread widely across the country los angeles county At least three buildings in the Pacific Palisades have suffered “significant damage” from the raging fire, forcing the closure of city schools.
A spokesperson for Los Angeles Unified Schools (LAUSD), the largest school district in Los Angeles, confirmed to Fox News Digital that at least three schools suffered severe fire damage.
“The Palisades Fire caused significant damage to Palisades Charter High School, Palisades Charter Elementary School, and Marquez Elementary School,” a spokesperson said.
The district said it is working closely with authorities and emergency responders to assess the situation and determine next steps to minimize disruption to student learning.

In total, at least 24 school districts have announced full or partial closures, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Education.

Alhambra Unified Superintendent Dennis Jaramillo wrote in a statement Wednesday. It means district officials need more time to inspect schools for safety. This area is located in the western San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County.
“So far, our campus is doing relatively well, but we expect air quality to continue to be poor due to excessive wind-driven dust and smoke from the fires.” wrote Jaramiglio.

The statement also said that “a significant number of faculty and staff are currently under evacuation orders, which will impact school operations and staff standards.”

The Los Angeles County School District announced that Burbank Unified School District, Glendale Unified School District, La Cañada Unified School District and Pasadena Unified School District will remain closed through Friday.
LAUSD said it will continue to evaluate the situation and make a decision Thursday regarding Friday classes.
