LA DA shares bombshell note written by Erik Menendez that may support claims dad sexually abused brothers

The Los Angeles district attorney has released a letter he cites as “new evidence” in the infamous Eric and Lyle Menendez case as he considers whether to review the brothers' life sentences for the murders of their parents.

CNN reported that Congressman George Gascón posted a screenshot of a letter Erik Menendez wrote to his cousin more than 30 years ago alleging abuse at the hands of his father, but it was quickly deleted.
“I've been trying to avoid my father. Andy, things like that still happen, but it's worse for me now,” the letter reads. “I don't know when it's going to happen and it drives me crazy. I wake up every night thinking he might walk in.”
The brothers' lawyers have long argued that the letter supports Eric's claims that he was sexually abused by his father as a child.

The district attorney's office had removed the post as of Tuesday after it emerged that relatives of the Menendez brothers had been invited to attend a news conference scheduled for Wednesday.

Relatives say the prosecutor's office has finally re-sentenced Eric, 53, and Lyle, 56, who spent more than 30 years in prison for killing their parents Jose and Kitty Menendez in their Beverly Hills mansion in 1989. I hope that it will be recommended.

The potential renewal comes after Gascón announced that he is considering new evidence of sexual abuse charges in the case to determine whether the brothers should continue serving life sentences without parole. It took place a few weeks later.
