A convicted felon in Minnesota was arrested Wednesday on murder charges for allegedly stuffing a Los Angeles-based model inside a refrigerator, gagging her mouth and shackling her wrists and ankles.
Marissa Mooney, 31, sister of Guyanese pop star Jourdan Pauline, was found dead on September 12, 2023, after Los Angeles police conducted a welfare check at her apartment. Ta.
Magnus Daniel Humphrey was picked up by police at his home in Hopkins, Minnesota on an unrelated warrant and identified as a “suspect” in Mooney’s brutal murder.
“The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has filed murder charges against Humphrey,” the statement continued. “Humphrey waived his extradition and will be extradited to Los Angeles to face charges.”
He was on probation for a federal drug crime.
Mooney’s sister told local television station KTLA that she was two months pregnant when her sister died and had always wanted to become a mother.
“I can’t even imagine what my sister went through and it hurts just thinking about it,” Pauline told the magazine.
The autopsy report revealed that Mooney was pregnant at the time of her death.
Her death came just two days after another model, Nicole “Nicki” Coates, was found dead in her apartment on Grand Avenue in Los Angeles.
