Labour takes on the SNP in Scotland – podcast | News

“A really typical doorstep rescue is someone saying, ‘I’m totally fed up with this. Is there anything I can do to get them out?'” Kirsty McNeillThe Labour candidate for Midlothian told the Guardian’s Scotland correspondent: Libby Brooks.

“Then I have to ask: ‘Are you talking about the people over there or the people over there?’ And they say: ‘The truth is we’re both very disappointed.'”

Libby has been speaking to voters and candidates in Midlothian, one of many battleground districts between the SNP and Labour. Helen Pidd He spoke about how the rising cost of living, the decline of public services and scandals in the SNP leadership have left some voters disillusioned and thinking about independence and other concerns.
