Lady Gaga, Will Ferrell and Lauryn Hill headline star-studded SNL concert | Saturday Night Live

IT seems like a difficult task to put together 50 years of music in one night. But when you embrace that cultural cache, not only does the artists respected by Saturday night live shows and their incredibly vast Rorodex, but also the SNL Honcho Lorne Michaels and producer Mark Ronson Shear production capacity, resulting in a luxurious amount of over 3 hours. It rivals the Star List, most packed Grammy Awards, Oscars or their likeness.

The chosen venue came from the bitter cold of New York on Valentine's night was Radio City Music Hall. Rockefeller Center ranges not just from jumps from SNL's Studio 8H at nearby NBC Studios. Its Art Deco space serves as a microcosm of New York City. This is a tourist mecca loved by locals in Hard Scrabble. So it was natural for the rocket and SNL to decorate a sacred stage at once.

Scanning the crowd makes it clear that this is a unique audience. Besides the ordinary fans who appeared in the Pitt, the audience consisted of former hosts, cast members, writers and friends from the show. The show's vast legacy was played as a dynamic tapestry in the lobby. Down the carpet floor where his family was caught was of course a Chevrolet Chase wearing a baseball hat, a veteran of the original 1975 cast. Over there, it was Jason Momoa who poled out with the bartender in a tank top lined up for beer in the concession stand. Nearby, Pete Davidson (cast member 2014-2022) became Nate Bargatze and Kivitz.

All-star SNL host Alec Baldwin also chatted with Gamely as Paul Rudd and James Franco hugged him outside and caught up with the SNL team. It appeared that Sharp-in-a-Suit Miles Teller and his wife were both on a double date with former host Anya Taylor-Joy's husband. Former cast members Jon Lovitz (1985-1990) and Horatio Sanz (1998-2006) also hugged her. The new generation of stars have made their presence known, from hot guy ring leader Sean Evans to comedian/podcast host Theo Fong.

Inside, the venue, which had 6,000 seats, was equipped with three stages. Two of them are adjacent to a replica of Grand Central Station, nodding to the show's current set. Opening Proceedings is Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon (cast member 1998-2004), who broke an energetic homage to the Bruce brothers. Perhaps it was so energetic that Fallon then breathed out for his monologue and added a sense of energy. . “I have two things that I have in common with SNL,” he told Mike. “This year, we both turned 50. We peaked around 25, to be honest,” he cracked.

The show was divided into segments to celebrate certain aspects of SNL's musical history. Memorable at SNL's 40th anniversary special 10 years ago, Miley Cyrus begins to be a tribute to Queen in the form of her own hit flower and covers of Crazy Little Thing called Freddie Mercury Backed Love The band played at the show in 1982. The bad bunny, showing muscles, was able to run through to show his continued strength as the Puerto Ricon icon played his latest hit DTMF.

In honor of frequent SNL guest Tom Petty, Eddie Vedder ran the wait, nodding to other fallen SNL favorites like John Belushi and Gilda Radner. Jelly Roll pays tribute to Johnny Cash, with the surviving members of Post Malone and Nirvana Sang smelling like Teen Spirit (reported as Post Nirvana). Heroes in honor of David Bowie (played four times on the show and first debuted in 1979).

Lady Gaga was also on hand after continuing her memorable appearances at both Fire Aid and the Grammy Awards earlier this month. When she first tried to play her star, she sat with Andy Samberg wearing a cowboy hat, in a shallow hit early in the show. “Andy, Andy, I have to stop you,” Gaga said with a hand on her head. “Is that bad?” he shot. “Yes, that's very bad.”

In reality, it was a gag that led to the medley of Samburg's comedy trio “Lonely Island's Viral Musical Parody” (Gaga is filming the line of Justin Timberlake, the original duet partner), but I just We had sex (with the help of a bad bunny) and I'm on a boat (with the help of a T-Pain). The most memorable was the performance on Lazy Sunday. He created a rap with cast member Cris Pernell (1998-2006), where the two shot him to fame and provided the perfect version for the pitch of the song that popularized YouTube at the time.

The luxury was littered with a lot of musical moments from other comedies. Bill Murray (and his '70s Nick the Lounge singer Bit) and Ferrell and Ana Gasteier (Wil Ferrell and Anna Gasteier Kalp as Bobby, a hopelessly touched music teacher, and Marty ), the latter is not like us, but rather a close closure of the freshness of Kendrick Lamar in the Super Bowl anthem. Elsewhere, Tracy Morgan sang his swing-in theme to his popular sketch astronaut Jones.

“Sit down, sit down,” the director begged Mike for every commercial break as the connected audience caught up with each other. Despite the extended runtime, the show's incredible zigzagging called for and secured the continued attention of everyone. The audience is probably the most vocal to Cher (if I could come back) and the boys on Backstreet, singing to every word the crowd wants it (Jerry Seinfeld) include). Meanwhile, Brandi Carlisle won the 2018 Ballad the Joke standing ovation.

I know it was a big night when Chris Martin simply served as a piano player for one set alongside “Bonnie Raitt in What's Called Love,” a song she originally performed on the show in 1990 . He served as a house band. We used Quest Lab on the drums to help everyone, from the B-52 to Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean. Elsewhere, Snoop Dogg rapped gin and juice and performed at the show in 1994 (known of course as Snoop Doggy Dogg).

It's clear where the highs and lows were by the end of the regular episode of Saturday Night Live. The essence of the show is that it is designed to represent a rittany with a different taste in comedy. Music is probably not subjective. Every song has a beat to latch. Perhaps in that sense, Jack White closed things in Seven Nation Army, so homecoming bash lost a low point. If only all the concerts were like this.
