Lainey Wilson shares why she kept boyfriend under wraps for two years and why they’re still not engaged

Rainie Wilson has revealed details about her once-secret relationship and why she and her boyfriend are still not engaged after several years together.

Taste of Country Night, On DemandSpeaking on the radio show “The 1000,” Wilson, 32, said she’s enjoying being able to share more of her personal life with her fans.

“It’s really cool to be able to share that side of my life,” she said of her relationship with former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges, 28. “For a long time, I loved him. [down low]I just wanted to know if he was really planning on staying here, you know what I mean?”

“But he’s not going anywhere. I’m not letting him go yet,” she joked.

Wilson, who is currently on tour, first went public with her relationship when she took Hodges as her date to the ACM Awards in May of last year. The country singer soon revealed on “The Bobby Bones Show” that she had been in a secret relationship with Hodges for two and a half years.

“I play all my songs for him before I play them for anybody else,” she continued on the radio show, “so he hears a little bit of everything, and he hears a lot of love songs that I’ve written for him that he doesn’t hear.”

The “Yellowstone” actress also touched on her future plans with Hodges, making it clear she’s not hiding anything.

“We’re not secretly engaged. No! But I have to propose to him, because he won’t propose to me,” she joked. [an engagement] “It should be at a time in your life where you have time to really love and enjoy it,” the “Heart Like a Truck” singer continued.

“Right now it’s like… ‘Oh crap, I’m engaged. Now I’m on to the next thing.’ I just want to soak it in.”

Since making their red carpet debut at the ACM Awards, Wilson and Hodges have attended several awards ceremonies together.

At the CMT Music Awards in April, Wilson told Fox News Digital that her boyfriend is “amazing looking” and shared how happy she is to have him by her side: “He’s one of my biggest cheerleaders. I always say he’s the kind of guy who gives you a high-five when you walk in the door and when you walk out the door.”

“Especially in my line of work,[s] He’s the most important person in my life, so I’m really grateful that he’s here.”
