2025 CMA Awards Highlights
The 2025 CMA Awards have kicked off, marking a significant night in country music. Luke Combs opened the event with an energetic rendition of “Back in the Saddle.”
Laney Wilson, stepping in as the host this year, dazzled the audience in a striking white and gold bell-bottom ensemble, topped off with a white cowboy hat and a striking CMA Awards belt buckle.
After Combs’ performance, Wilson excitedly mingled with stars in the crowd, inviting them to join her for some sing-alongs. Among those she approached were Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley, and Shabouzi, before Keith Urban joined her on stage.
The 59th CMA Awards are set to take place on November 19, 2025, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. During the ceremony, Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley presented the Single of the Year award, which went to Ella Langley and Riley Greene for their song “You Look Like You Love Me.”
This event marks Wilson’s first time hosting the CMA Awards solo; previously, she shared the spotlight with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning. It’s noteworthy, and perhaps a little historical, considering she joins the ranks of iconic hosts like Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
Dustin Lynch expressed confidence in Wilson’s hosting abilities on the red carpet, calling her the “perfect fit” for the event. “She’s just so natural and fun—really brings the right energy,” he shared.
Meanwhile, Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber celebrated their own date night at the CMAs. He joked about how his kids are usually all over him and relished the chance to spend quiet time with his wife.
LeAnn Rimes reflected on her return to the CMAs, reminiscing about her teenage years at the awards show during the late 1990s. She mentioned how it felt like a full circle moment for her.
This year’s ceremony is set to honor various country music artists, featuring performances from Megan Moloney, Kelsea Ballerini, Ella Langley, Chris Stapleton, Kenny Chesney, and Miranda Lambert. A special highlight will be the presentation of the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be given to Vince Gill, recognizing his lasting influence on the genre.
