Monday after the inauguration in 47th President Donald J. Trump and the Senate approved the legislation over the filibuster. It passed by a vote of 64-35.
Twelve Democrats voted with Republicans. These Democrats are Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania), Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), Sen. Maggie Hassan (D.N.H.), and Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.). ), Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.), and Sen. Raphael. Warnock (D-Georgia), Gary Peters (D-Michigan), Jacky Rosen (D-Nevada), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nevada), Jeanne Shaheen (D.N.H.), Elissa Slotkin (D-Michigan) and Mark Warner (D-Virginia).
It will now be sent back to the House of Commons for final passage.
