Laken Riley’s mom makes first comment since daughter’s murder

Laken Hope Riley’s mother has made her first public comment since her 22-year-old daughter’s tragic death.

Riley’s funeral was held Friday at Woodstock City Church in Woodstock, Georgia.

Senior pastor Sameer Massad recalled how Riley was “a gift to all who knew her.”

“Reken was special. She was a gift to everyone who knew her,” Massad reportedly told mourners. WXIA-TV.

“She had a gift for making those around her feel safe and cared for. But what was most special about Laken was her faith in Jesus,” the pastor continued. Not only did she believe it, she lived it. And because of her faith, even in difficult days like today, we grieve her death and celebrate her life with hope that she is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus. We will miss her very much. ”

Riley’s mother, Alison Phillips, made her first public comment about her daughter’s death on Saturday.

“I was sitting down to write this message and I just can’t find the words,” Phillips wrote on Facebook. post. “My family has faced the most devastating and unimaginable loss anyone has ever had to endure.”

Phillips emphasized his faith in enduring this heartbreaking tragedy.

“I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for being with me and my family during this heartbreaking time,” the distraught mother explained. “I encourage you to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I give all the glory to Jesus for getting me through this situation because of this senseless and avoidable tragedy. It would be really easy to lose faith in humanity.”

Mr Phillips thanked the “overwhelming” support during this “horrible nightmare”.

“Please know that every act of kindness has warmed our hearts and brought joy in our worst nightmares,” she continued. “We appreciate the time, effort, and prayers that our family, friends, and community have poured into us to help ease our pain. We love you all and know that you are in our hearts.” I hope that from the bottom of your heart, you can feel how much of an impact everything has made.” “The fact that it was done for us means that we love you. The crowdfunding campaign will initially raise $35,000 to “help the family with funeral expenses, establish a scholarship in her name, raise awareness of murder, or any other opportunity the family can use during this difficult time.” The goal was to

As of this article’s publication, the GoFundMe campaign had raised more than $230,000.
