Laken Snelling appeared with the University of Kentucky STUNT team just months prior to being charged in connection with her newborn's death.

Former University of Kentucky cheerleader Laken Snelling was part of the school’s stunt team just months prior to the discovery of a deceased newborn hidden in a garbage bag in her closet.

In an April video shared on Flocheer’s YouTube page, the university’s stunt team is showcased during their performance against California Baptist University at the national championships in Nashville, Tennessee.

Snelling, 21, appears in a clip where her teammates show support, executing one of their routines.

The footage captures Snelling, assisted by a teammate, as she lifts another girl into the air and performs a flip.

Another segment from the highlight reel features her playing a key role as a base in a stunt, where she catches fellow team members.

California Baptist University triumphed over Kentucky with a score of 106-75, securing their fourth title and third consecutive win.

Following this, Snelling left the university and was no longer part of the stunt team, as reported by local news sources.

The university commenced its new semester on August 25 but didn’t provide details regarding Snelling’s situation during this transition.

Earlier this month, Snelling was arrested after police found the deceased infant wrapped in a towel inside a black garbage bag in her off-campus residence, according to police reports.

Authorities pronounced the newborn dead at the scene.

Subsequent autopsy results have deemed the cause of death inconclusive.

Reports indicate that Snelling confessed to police about concealing her pregnancy by disposing of evidence, including the baby’s supplies, in the same garbage bag as the infant.

She now faces charges for concealing a birth, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

Details on who reported the incident remain unclear.

Law enforcement noted that Snelling’s ex-boyfriend, Isaiah Hall, provided a DNA sample to determine paternity, as his father relayed to the media.

“The Lexington police came down to the station to give him a sample,” Justin Smith, Hall’s father, remarked, but declined to comment further. “I don’t know anything about this. I don’t know if Isaiah is the father.”

Hall, who previously played basketball at King and Tusculum Colleges in Tennessee, was mentioned in several posts on Snelling’s social media prior to her arrest on August 31.

The timeline of their relationship is unclear, and Hall seems to have deleted his social media accounts following the incident that drew public attention.

Snelling was released from jail on a $100,000 bond and has been ordered to stay at her parents’ home in Tennessee until her court appearance on September 26.
