Arthur Calma has secured a position on the Lakers’ roster after delivering an impressive performance in the Summer League.
On Monday, sources informed the California Post that the Lakers have finalized a two-way contract with Calma. ESPN was the first to break the news.
To accommodate Calma, the team will need to free up one of their two-way slots.
Currently, Chris Mannone, Peter Suder, and AK Okereke hold the Lakers’ two-way spots as of Monday.
Mannone, who went undrafted from Vanderbilt in 2025, spent the previous season with the Lakers under a two-way contract and re-signed with a new agreement on July 3.
Suder, also undrafted, recently signed a two-way deal with the Lakers and, according to sources, is “likely” to be waived to create space for Calma.
In the Summer League, Calma showcased his skills in six games, averaging 17.3 points and 3.7 rebounds, with notable shooting percentages—55.1% from the field and 38.9% from three-point range.
Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 225 pounds, Calma possesses a 7-foot-1/2 wingspan, which could potentially contribute to his professional success.
During the Summer League, multiple front office sources suggested that Calma exhibits two-way talent.
He helped lead the Lakers to the semifinals of the Las Vegas Summer League.
Calma’s college career included time at Creighton (2021-23), Kansas State (2023-24), and Texas (2024-25), after which he went undrafted in 2025.
Following his undrafted status, he played for the South Bay/Coachella Valley Lakers in the G League during the 2025-2026 season, where he averaged 14.6 points on 54.8% shooting and 36.7% from beyond the arc, along with 4.9 rebounds prior to participating in the Summer League.
