Lamar Jackson is definitely set to hit the field this Sunday as the Ravens face off against the Steelers in a crucial AFC North matchup.
After sitting out last weekend’s victory against the Packers due to a back contusion from Week 16, Jackson confirmed his readiness. “Yeah, I’m 100 percent willing to go there,” he told reporters. “I’m looking forward to playing on Sunday. And I feel like it’s not just me; all of us, every step of the way.” His enthusiasm is hard to miss.
This game is pivotal for Baltimore. They need a win to clinch the division title and secure a playoff spot. Interestingly, a victory would also mean knocking the Steelers out of contention, which would be quite the cherry on top for the Ravens.
Jackson, a two-time MVP winner, will be wearing protective gear to safeguard his back during the game.
Reflecting on the injury he sustained—kneed in the back during a close 28-24 defeat against the Patriots two weeks ago—Jackson missed not just that game but also the following one against the Packers.
Jackson addressed some recent rumors suggesting tension with Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. A column alleged that Harbaugh was “disgusted” with Jackson’s behavior, claiming he even dozed off during team meetings. While Harbaugh denied these accusations in a recent press conference, Jackson revisited the topic during his Thursday interview.
He joked, “Do you think Harbaugh will let me sleep during the meeting? I’m sitting right in front.” Quite the clever comeback.
When asked about the source of these rumors, Jackson simply said, “I don’t know where that news is coming from.” And while he’s secured a contract with the Ravens until 2027, his 2025 season had its ups and downs, with four games missed due to injuries.
