Lamar Odom shares a detailed dream in which Kobe Bryant talked about life after death.

Kobe Bryant’s Dream Shared by Lamar Odom

Recently, Lamar Odom, a former teammate of Kobe Bryant, shared a striking dream he had about the Lakers legend. On the Double3 Coverage Podcast, Odom recounted a dream in which he competed in a three-point shooting contest against Bryant, hosted by actor Billy Crystal.

During the competition in his dream, Odom said Bryant paused, glanced back at him, and remarked, “Hello, life after death isn’t what people invented,” before Odom woke up. This moment sent Odom into deep reflection, leading him to ponder whether his late teammates were attempting to communicate something to him.

“Maybe it’s him. I mean, everyone, perhaps, there are a multitude of things. Maybe he’s still traveling somewhere important. I honestly don’t know what that means, but I guess I’m just trying to live my best life,” Odom explained.

Reflections on Life and Death

Odom’s experiences have also shaped his views on life and death. He nearly lost his life following a drug overdose in 2015. In his Netflix documentary, “The Death and Life of Lamar Odom,” he discussed how the afterlife was not what he expected, yet he felt Bryant’s voice guiding him in his dreams.

On the podcast, Odom expressed a poignant realization: “I died and couldn’t say where I was going, you know? There’s so much we live for: friends, family, and even material things. I treasure the present because life taught me nobody is promised tomorrow.” This lesson, Odom says, is something he learned from his time with Bryant.

Tragically, Bryant and eight others, including his daughter Gianna, died in a helicopter crash in January 2020. Odom and Bryant played together on the Lakers from 2004 to 2011, winning two NBA championships, with Odom being named Sixth Man of the Year during the 2010-11 season.

Reflecting on his career, Odom enjoyed a 14-season run in the NBA, including stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks.
