Lane Kiffin’s Social Media Activity Draws Attention
In the realm of college football coaching, Lane Kiffin has mastered the art of social media. Some might say this is his greatest strength, while others argue it raises questions about his priorities.
Recently, many observers have deemed his social media endeavors a dismal failure. Kiffin, who seems to share motivational quotes more often than anyone might expect, tagged the official accounts of Ole Miss and Tennessee in a tweet over the weekend.
He posted, “Just think about it,” alongside an image that read, “Imagine how boring your life would be if you couldn’t bother me.” It’s a bit peculiar for a successful, 50-year-old head coach at LSU to post something so trivial on a late April Saturday.
When you consider that Kiffin left his head coaching position at Tennessee back in 2010, and then abruptly departed Ole Miss just a few months ago, it shifts from simply odd to something that feels a bit extreme.
His departure from Ole Miss came just days before the program’s first College Football Playoff appearance, transforming him from a beloved figure to perhaps the most disliked person in Rebels football history, even outdoing Tommy Tuberville.
His post generated plenty of buzz—and not all of it was positive. Many users online voiced their criticisms, and in a way, they seemed justified.
Kiffin is now in his first year leading the Tigers, and expectations are notably high for this LSU team, particularly due to his previous success at Ole Miss, a key rival in the SEC.
The upcoming season will see LSU face both Ole Miss on September 19th and Tennessee on November 21st. It’s reasonable to predict that both teams, along with their fan bases, are looking to settle the score with their former coach.
