Forget the getaway car.
A man wanted for carjacking tried to escape police on a skateboard in Los Angeles last month.
Video released by police On Friday, Pedro Villalobos can be seen suddenly jumping out of a stolen pickup truck with his skateboard after losing control of the vehicle in a police chase.
The six police officers who had followed Villalobos on a precarious and dangerous 6 a.m. chase held their guns when Villalobos abandoned the truck towing the attached trailer.
“Stop, stop! Show me your hands!” Officers can hear the warning.
Instead, Villalobos, wearing a reflective yellow vest that’s hard to miss, took off down the dark street and hopped smoothly onto his skateboard.

“Multiple officers pursued Villalobos on foot, and another unit drove past Villalobos’ position,” LA Police said in a statement.
But the accused scammer didn’t get very far.
An officer who drove past Villalobos jumped from the cruiser, pushing him off the board as he tried to circle around the officer.
Villalobos fell to the ground and was immediately guarded by four officers.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment for an injury to his right leg sustained in the fall, leading to a police investigation into the incident.
He was later charged with two counts of vehicle theft and one count of reckless evasion.
