LAPD Shares Intense Images of Nick Reiner's Arrest Following His Parents' Killing

Arrest of Nick Reiner Following Parents’ Murders

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Gang and Narcotics Unit shared several photos of Nick Reiner’s arrest after the tragic murders of his parents, renowned film directors Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner. The images were briefly available on Instagram before being taken down.

One image captured Reiner, aged 32, in handcuffs on the ground, with the officers’ faces blurred for privacy. This arrest took place around 9:15 p.m., reportedly on a Sunday.

Other photos depicted him being escorted to a police car. Law enforcement, along with a U.S. Marshals task force, responded after Nick was found at a subway station near Exposition Park, some 25 miles from his Brentwood home.

Nick is currently held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles. His last appearance in public was at a Christmas party hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien, where he reportedly had a loud argument with his parents over financial matters.

Sources indicated that Rob Reiner refused to give his son money, citing concerns over Nick’s severe drug addiction. This led to a heated exchange that left other attendees feeling uncomfortable; the Reiners departed soon after.

Tragically, Rob, 78, and Michelle, 68, were discovered dead in their home less than a day later, with their daughter Romy finding the bodies.

Inevitably, disturbing details arose about the hotel room Nick had occupied, which was allegedly left in a horrific condition—covered in blood with a similarly messy bathroom.

Nick Reiner has faced a persistent struggle with substance abuse, having cycled in and out of rehab at least 15 times. He has openly acknowledged periods of homelessness, linked to his avoidance of rehabilitation services.

In a noteworthy collaboration, Nick and his father worked on the film Being Charlie in 2016, a semi-autobiographical story reflecting Nick’s battles with addiction.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is slated to investigate the incident, considering potential charges or actions concerning Nick Reiner.
