Lara Trump says top priority at RNC is ‘protecting the vote’

Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair Lara Trump said the party’s top priority is “protecting the vote” in November’s election.

Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked former President Trump’s daughter-in-law what her top priorities are now that she has been elected RNC co-chairman. She pointed to comments from Attorney General Merrick Garland earlier this month in which the Justice Department said it would challenge states that implement “discriminatory, burdensome, and unnecessary restrictions on access to ballots.” .

“That’s a big question. There are three pillars we need to focus on at the RNC to ensure a victory on November 5th: getting the vote out, protecting the vote, and raising money.” But I would argue that perhaps the most important of these three is protecting the integrity of voting and elections,” Lara Trump wrote in response to Garland’s comments. He spoke on Sunday Morning Futures.

“We have to make sure that when people go to vote, they feel their vote matters and they are motivated to vote. What happened in 2020 and the issues surrounding that election We can never allow this to happen again,” she added.

The former president and his supporters have claimed that the 2020 election was fraudulent and that it was stolen from him. There is no widespread evidence of fraud in the 2020 election.

Trump, the RNC’s new co-chairman, said the committee had created an “election integrity division” that would include “national volunteer efforts, including poll watchers and trained poll workers.” network.”

“And right now, we’ve filed 78 lawsuits in 23 states across the country to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. And here’s what I mean: Anyone thinking of cheating in an election. Whoever you are, we will come after you. You will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It’s not worth it,” she said.

“Maria, every person in this country, whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat, should want free, fair and transparent elections,” she added.
