Lara Trump Talks Travel Tips to Minimize Airport Wait Times
Lara Trump, the host of “My View with Lara Trump,” is stirring up some conversation regarding travel timing, particularly when it comes to airport arrivals. She recently discussed with FOX News Digital a strategy she calls the “no-wait-at-the-gate” method, which allows travelers to utilize their time better without excessive waiting at the airport.
“Honestly, my aim is to get to the gate right as they announce my boarding zone. I really want to make sure I don’t waste a single second,” she explained. “If you’re sitting around waiting, well, that feels like a missed opportunity to me.”
She elaborated on her approach, noting how juggling family time has made her prioritize efficiency. “When you’re trying to spend more moments at home with your kids and cram a lot into your day, looking for ways to cut that wait time is crucial,” she said. “My goal is simply to get through security, walk to the gate, board, and then be done with it.”
The TSA typically advises travelers to arrive two hours before domestic flights and three hours for international ones. However, a 2024 study by Upgrade Points showed that passengers lost an average of 29 minutes, partly due to flight delays.
Lara mentioned that she adopted this hack during her time on the campaign trail when balancing a hectic schedule became essential. “It was all about quick transitions,” she recalls, as family and staff navigated busy days.
She also pointed out that having all relevant airline apps on her phone helps stay updated on any delays, making travel smoother. “It’s super helpful to get those alerts,” she added.
Additionally, she has tips for using Google to check flight statuses. That way, if you’re not at the airport yet, you can linger a bit longer at home. “You can find details like where your flight is coming from and how long it may be delayed. It really helps to have that info,” she shared with a light chuckle.
“When it comes time to board, I just want to be right there, not hanging around,” she mentioned, adding that she understands this approach may not work for everyone. “I’ve traveled with folks who get a bit anxious about it,” she admitted.
Lara and her husband, Eric Trump, occasionally have differing views on timing when heading to the airport. “We sometimes disagree on strategies and the best time to leave the house,” she revealed, slightly laughing.
She concluded by emphasizing the importance of minimizing time spent waiting. “When I travel alone, I’m focused on not wasting any time at the gate.” She reminisced about a recent humorously frustrating experience being stuck in long security lines, stating, “It feels like security has its challenges. Like, the automated trash systems really slow things down. I mean, I think it often takes longer than just handling it myself.”
So, while some prefer arriving early, Lara’s methods aim to challenge the norm, making room for more precious time spent elsewhere.
