Las Vegas Cybertruck Attacker’s Guns Were Legally Purchased

The man who allegedly tried to detonate a Tesla Cybertruck near the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas was in possession of a legally purchased firearm.

Associated Press reported The suspect in the explosion, 37-year-old Matthew Libersberger, reportedly shot himself in the head before the explosives inside the Cybertruck detonated.

A handgun that appeared to have been used was found at his feet.

NBC News noticed Law enforcement said they recovered two firearms at the scene: “a .50 caliber Desert Eagle and a semi-automatic handgun.” He also noted that both guns were “legally purchased on December 30th.”

ABC News pointed out Libersberger was a “special operations soldier on leave from a base in Germany,” the statement said. He was a “Green Beret operations sergeant primarily stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.”
