Las Vegas police said Tuesday they were looking for a suspect after Teslas appeared to be on fire and shot at a local business.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Station (LVMPD) Sheriff Dori Koren said at a press conference that his police station had multiple 911 calls regarding Tesla clashes and fires at a sales center at about 2:45am on Tuesday. He said multiple vehicles were on fire when officers arrived at the scene.
“I can say I believe the suspect has come close to a business wearing all black. He used Molotov cocktails and what looked like a firearm to attack. At least five Tesla vehicles were damaged, two of which were swallowed by the flames,” he said.
“As mentioned earlier, we are still in the process of collecting evidence, but we believe the firearm was used as the suspect appears to have fired at least three rounds into different Tesla vehicles,” Koren added.
LVMPD said Tuesday They're press releasesalongside the FBI and Clark County Fire Department, investigating the attack.
“Rich terrorism,” Tesla founder and tech billionaire Elon Musk said on his social platform X. Video response The Las Vegas Review Journal said it portrayed the incident.
Also on Tuesday, the FBI's field office in Kansas City said its Kansas City Field Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, the Bureau of Tobacco, Firearms and Explosions (ATF) were investigating cybertruck damage at a Tesla dealer in Kansas City, Missouri, according to a social media post.
“The FBI and the ATF are working with the Kansas City Police Department, Missouri, to investigate a nighttime incident in which a cybertruck was damaged at a Tesla dealer in South Kansas City,” the FBI's Kansas City Field Office said in a statement posted to Facebook.
