Two Las Vegas teenagers accused of intentionally running over and killing a bicyclist killed a retired police officer during a two-hour crime spree, according to reports.
Drivers Jesus Ayala, 18, and Jazamir Keyes, 16, allegedly stole three vehicles, committed a robbery and attempted to kill another bicycle rider. KLAS reported, citing both sources and public records.
Authorities say Ayala intentionally crashed his car into a car that killed former California Police Chief Andreas “Andy” Probst, 64, as he was riding his bicycle in marked lanes in northwest Las Vegas last month. , authorities say, has been charged with murder.
The vehicle had been stolen.
Ayala faces 18 charges, including murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an accident, and numerous theft and robbery charges.
Ayala and Keyes, who was a passenger in Probst’s car when he was struck, made their first appearances in adult court Thursday.
Keyes is charged with murder, attempted murder, and assault.




Probst’s death on Aug. 14 was initially classified as a hit-and-run until police were alerted to a video of the killing.
About 30 minutes before Probst’s murder, the two allegedly hit another biker and tried to steal two more cars before crashing near a shopping plaza, KLAS reported.
Officials said two young suspects also entered the garage and stole several items.
