Latin Kings member arrested after being seen stealing from an FBI weapons locker in Minneapolis

Riots in Minneapolis Following ICE Shooting

Riots broke out in Minneapolis on Wednesday after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot and killed a man. Allegedly, he was attacked by one of three individuals who were identified as undocumented immigrants.

During the tumultuous events, independent journalist Nick Souter recorded disturbing scenes of individuals looting and vandalizing federal vehicles. In one clip, rioters were seen tearing open weapons lockers from these vehicles, while another video showed them successfully breaching a separate locker and making off with a rifle.

Moreover, Souter managed to capture the suspect’s face clearly—he had a distinctive tattoo. He also recorded what appeared to be the suspect’s license plate number.

Attorney General Pam Bondi criticized the situation, stating, “Minnesota’s leaders are encouraging law-breaking.”

On Thursday night, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, in collaboration with the Department of Justice, arrested a known member of the Latin Kings gang, Raul Gutierrez, on suspicion of theft. He allegedly stole FBI body armor and weapons, as confirmed by reports. Gutierrez, 33, from Inver Grove Heights, is currently facing charges related to theft and weapons possession according to local sheriff records.

Bondi pointed out that Gutierrez’s case exemplifies the daily challenges faced by federal law enforcement in Minnesota, which, she argued, is a result of local leadership fostering criminal activity.

FBI Director Kash Patel mentioned that there would be additional arrests associated with the riots, pointing out that those who assault law enforcement or damage taxpayer-funded properties will be pursued and apprehended.

Souter, who recently had his own car destroyed by anti-ICE protestors, noted that he had been bombarded with complaints from critics following the arrests. “Their Trump Derangement Syndrome is so bad that they’re defending violent gang members who steal guns. What a time to be alive,” he remarked.

Lastly, journalist Cam Higbie reported that he faced aggression from anti-ICE protestors who mistook him for Souter during the chaos.
