Lauren Bennett, singer featured in 'Party Rock Anthem,' has passed away at 36.

Lauren Bennett, known for her role in the 2011 hit “Party Rock Anthem” by the electronic dance music duo LMFAO, has passed away at the age of 36.

Bennett’s former group, GRL, shared the news on their Instagram account, expressing their sorrow by stating, “We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Lauren.”

“Our hearts are broken, and words cannot express how much she meant to us,” GRL continued. “We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us.”

“Her beautiful spirit touched the lives of many people, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved,” added the American, Canadian, and British girl group.

The surviving GRL members also concluded their statement with, “Rest in Peace, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.”

Bennett’s official cause of death is still under investigation, but authorities are considering it a suspected suicide.

Furthermore, while the singer died on May 29, the public only learned about her passing following GRL’s statement a little over a month later.

On the same day, Bennett’s father, Richard, released a statement indicating that she had experienced a “severe reaction” to a new medication in the months leading up to her death.

“Lauren was an incredible person and artist. She was creative, talented, funny, and as humble as she was beautiful,” Richard shared. “She was deeply loved and made a lasting impact on countless lives through her music and kindness.”

“From an early age, it was evident that Lauren had a unique talent. She started performing professionally when she was just 12, and watching her develop as an artist was one of my greatest joys,” he added.

“Her achievements in the music industry exceeded our expectations, and I’m immensely proud,” Richard expressed.

He went on to say: “Lauren had a severe reaction to the medication prescribed to her before her passing. As a family, we rallied around her and did everything possible to support her.”

“We have no doubts regarding the circumstances of her death, but we are disappointed that medical and NHS services did not properly assist her during those crucial five months,” he continued.

“I hope she will be remembered for her remarkable achievements, beautiful music, and the wonderful individual she was,” Richard concluded. “Her legacy will live on through her daughter, her family, and the music she created.”

He also requested “privacy and respect” as the family mourns and deals with this unimaginable loss.

“We appreciate the love, support, and kindness from friends, fans, and everyone during this extremely challenging time,” Richard added.

Bennett, who began her musical journey at 18 with the formation of Paradiso Girls in 2007, leaves behind a six-year-old daughter, Harlow.

Notably, her passing comes after the GRL member Simone Battle died by suicide in September 2014 at the age of 25, leading to the group’s disbandment in June 2015.
