Lauren Sanchez Marries Jeff Bezos in Venice
Lauren Sanchez has officially become Mrs. Bezos. On June 27, in a stunning ceremony at San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy, she tied the knot with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, surrounded by a star-studded guest list.
On her Instagram, Sanchez shared an update that read “Lauren Sánchez Bezos,” signaling her new name after saying “I Do.” She also revealed her wedding dress for the first time in an Instagram post, captioning it with the date and a red heart.
Wedding Dress Inspiration
Sanchez’s wedding attire, a mermaid-style lace gown designed by Dolce & Gabbana, features long sleeves and a high neckline. In a cover story for Vogue, she expressed feeling like a princess in her dress, which was inspired by Sophia Loren’s look from the 1958 film “Houseboat.” This design choice is somewhat of a departure from the more daring outfits she’s sported previously—a reflection of her evolving style.
“It’s a simple, sexy modern dress that captures the moment,” she noted. Although she aimed for a more understated look, she still hoped it would surprise Bezos. “I think he’ll be very happy,” she mused. “It’s elegant and timeless.”
An Intimate Celebration
The wedding itself was described as “very intimate,” with only about 70 of the 200 guests being family members. Sanchez had expressed a desire for a classic, elegant celebration, avoiding too much flash or glamour, while still wanting it to feel personal.
“It’s a little different for a 55-year-old woman,” she remarked when discussing her take on traditional wedding customs. She brought a special something blue to the ceremony—something from her space flight with Blue Origin, making it quite significant to her.
Family Participation
Her two sons, Nikko and Evan, walked her down the aisle, while her daughter, Ella, served as maid of honor and read during the wedding. All three wore Dolce & Gabbana as well, adding to the family’s stylish presence.
Leading up to the ceremony, Sanchez made personal preparations, losing 3.5 pounds and cutting back on alcohol and salt. She playfully shared how food is an important part of her life and noted that exercise is their morning routine together.
Grateful and Happy
Reflecting on the importance of the day, Sanchez expressed her joy at marrying Bezos, stating, “I’m happy to be married and to spend my life with my best friend.” Her enthusiasm was palpable, and she couldn’t help but feel like the “luckiest woman on the planet.”
