Lauren Sanchez at the 2026 Met Gala

Lauren Sanchez made a striking entrance at the 2026 Met Gala, donning a custom Schiaparelli gown. The design featured a dramatic corset-like lace-up back, drawing inspiration from John Singer Sargent’s famous portrait, Madame X.

Known for its sensational nature, this portrait is considered one of the standout attractions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The navy dress boasted a daring low-cut neckline, with straps embellished with pearls and crystals. In a playful nod to the painting, one of the crystals elegantly slipped off her shoulder.

Sanchez, 56, styled her long brown hair to one side and accessorized with stunning 60-carat diamond and pearl drop earrings crafted by Lorraine Schwartz. Instead of a massive engagement ring, she opted for a 35-carat single-stone marquise Golconda diamond ring on her left hand.

She posed solo for a bit, without her husband, Jeff Bezos, before mingling with Nicole Kidman and Anna Wintour at the reception.

The couple has been backing events themed “costume art” and supporting glamorous balls.

Sanchez expressed her gratitude to her stylist, Law Roach, on Instagram, highlighting how pleased she was with her look.

Reports indicate that Bezos and Sanchez received at least $10 million for co-chairing the gala alongside celebrities like Beyoncé, Kidman, and Venus Williams, which led to some protests.

Before the main event, they hosted a lavish gathering attended by notable figures such as Kendall and Kris Jenner, and Lisa Rinna.

This year’s gala marks Sanchez’s second appearance. Her debut was in 2024, where she wore a black mirrored ball gown that resonated with the “Sleeping Beauty: Fashion’s Awakening” theme, while Bezos complemented her in a classic black tuxedo.

Her recent appearances have been complemented by a Vogue profile and a digital cover following her elaborate wedding in Italy. The couple’s wedding attire, both Dolce & Gabbana, received guidance from Anna Wintour during the selection process.

In a vibrant fashion scene, they’ve been actively involved, attending Paris Fashion Week and collaborating with high-profile stylists like Law Roach and Jamie Mizrahi.
