Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said in an interview Friday that the left’s legal battle against former President Donald Trump “has already backfired.” Breitbart News Daily Following the news that a Manhattan jury had found Trump guilty on all 34 charges in his business records trial.
“It’s already backfired. It’s backfired very badly. … I hold county meetings every year in all 95 counties to look at how we can best get counties to work as a team, I meet with a lot of residents and local officials and things like that,” the senator began, explaining that they were in the middle of just such a county meeting when news broke that a Manhattan jury had found Trump guilty on all 34 counts in his business records trial.
“The anger, the shock, the disgust that people in that room expressed, everybody has seen this. Everybody has seen how it plays out. This is the justice system being weaponized against political opponents, against individuals, against the public. They have seen this. Democrats cannot deny this,” she said, explaining that people are witnessing Democrats doing this and they are angry.
“We are the United States of America. We do not use our government as a weapon against our enemies. We do not have a dual justice system that shows bias, we do not have judges that show blatant bias, we do not have prosecutors campaigning saying, ‘I’m going to get so-and-so,'” Blackburn said, referring to the admissions of Alvin Bragg and Letitia James that they wanted to get Trump.

“People have seen it, and we’ve heard a lot from people,” she said, noting that she hosted a dinner in Cumberland County Thursday night and spoke to a group of about 250 people.
“The people in that room strongly supported Donald Trump and strongly opposed what happened. We must remember that on November 5th, the public will have the opportunity to have their say on this decision,” she said, noting that it is essential that people go to vote.
“In the last election, we heard a lot about the 30 million evangelical Christians who are not registered to vote. They need to register, they need to go to the polls and vote. If they love freedom, if they love opportunity, if they love the American dream, now is the time to kick into gear,” Blackburn added.
