Lawrence Taylor’s latest felony charges dropped in Florida

Prosecutors on Wednesday dropped felony charges filed against Giants legend Lawrence Taylor for failing to comply with the terms of his registration as a sex offender.

Taylor was charged last month with failing to report a change of address to authorities in connection with an alleged sex offences case dating back to 2010.

Prosecutors in Broward County, Florida, ultimately dropped the charges.

Florida prosecutors have dropped felony charges against registered sex offender Lawrence Taylor for failing to report a change of address.

Taylor’s lawyer, Mark Eiglish, said: Claims to TMZ The arrest came as Taylor’s ex-wife was “attempting to gain the upper hand in their bitter three-year divorce battle.”

“We are extremely grateful to the prosecutors in this case,” the lawyers continued, “who ensured that true justice was achieved.”

In a 2010 incident, Taylor was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl.

He told authorities at the time that the girl told him she was 19 years old.

He eventually pleaded guilty in 2011 to sexual misconduct and using prostitutes.

Taylor, one of the greatest players in NFL history and a two-time Super Bowl champion, was arrested again in 2021 for a similar incident he was arrested last month for failing to report a change of address.

“As in the previous case involving these same charges, Mr. Taylor did not knowingly commit a crime,” Taylor’s lawyers said last month.

“This situation is a serious misunderstanding, and we are confident that once prosecutors reconsider the evidence that proves Mr. Taylor’s innocence, he will again receive a favorable result.”
